A celebration of all things chamber music to round off the Festival with Camerata RCO and Alissa Firsova. Messiaen’s ethereal Quartet for the End of Time is paired with works by Schubert, Hindemith, A. Firsova and Vaughan Williams.

About this concert:
The prestigious Camerata RCO, from one of the world's top orchestras, Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw, joins forces with Alissa Firsova for this year's festival finale in a powerful, gala-like programme, ranging from transcendental and ethereal qualities in Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, as well as in Alissa's own Reunion, to the impressive harmonic language of Hindemith's Clarinet Quartet. Prepare to be transported by Schubert's Notturno and to hum along cheerily to the Six Studies on English Folk Songs by Vaughan Williams, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth. Come and enjoy the colours of the clarinet, violin, cello and piano in a rich variety of combinations.
